A life steeped in learning, led by love, and lived at a rhythm that restores.

There’s a trellis in my garden where the tomatoes never climb in a straight line. They twist, lean, wander—and still, they fruit. That’s something I’ve come to accept in both gardening and homeschooling (and even in our own self-development): the path to growth is rarely linear. And perhaps that’s why this space exists.
My name is Kim Prieto, and I’m a homeschooling mom, literature teacher, curriculum creator, and lifelong student of people and ideas. I’ve walked away from teaching in public schools and following boxed curriculums, tiptoed into my own path, and wrestled with parenting questions that don’t come with easy answers. What you’ll find here isn’t perfection. It’s presence. It’s practice. It’s the quiet but persistent work of cultivating a life of meaning, beauty, and truth—no matter where you’re starting (or restarting) from.
So what will you find here?
You’ll find living ideas. You’ll find rhythms, not rigid schedules. Lessons that invite delight, and writing that helps children—and adults—savor what they’ve read and who they’re becoming. Whether you homeschool full-time, after school, or simply want to nourish your family life with more intention, you are welcome here.
I write about:
Education as a lifestyle — inspired by Charlotte Mason, rooted in relationship
Parenting with compassion and courage — even when it’s messy
Literature and language arts — not as tasks, but as tools to think, wonder, and write
Curriculum design — not to tell you what to do, but to walk alongside as you create your own map
Rhythms that restore — from daily rituals to seasonal resets
Why am I sharing?
Because I needed this. I needed to see that someone else had felt unsure but kept going. That someone else had high ideals and low days. That they believed in goodness, in growth, and in the daily grace of trying again.
And because I know I’m not the only one who wonders if we’re doing enough—or if maybe “enough” has never been the point.
This blog is not a platform. It’s a porch. Come sit for a while. Let’s talk about what it means to raise whole humans, to teach from a place of rest, and to become a little more unshakable in the process.
Welcome to Delight & Savor—I’m so glad you’re here.
~Kim
